Over four years I had the great honour to capture the biggest and most infamous white-water competition around the world…

Every year at the same time in spring, at a “one-horse town” in the middle of Alto Adige, better know as South Tyrol - worlds best white-water paddlers come together, to compete on one of the most notorious river sections around the Alps. During this week, the small and cosy alpine village turns into THE kayaking hotspot, crowded by the international who is who of white-water extreme paddling. Starting with the training days, followed by the qualifications with a mass-start of all competitors. Everybody qualified is allowed to paddle the finals on this extremely challenging course. Finalist can be proud to tackle this harsh river without getting hurt and the winner can be even prouder to name him/her self: King and Queen of the Alps!
