about Moidl
Hello I'm a characterful, four-year-old
working-line tricolor Australian Shepherd.
I'm the Stage Clown, Rescue Specialist and Sentinel
on this mission and always motivated for "throwing the bear."
My name is rooted in the Tyrolean dialect what is
an old-fashioned term of endearment for "Maria".
But along the Zillertal valley, it is also a very common expression
for the sun and the steady evening wind that flows through the valley.
Dr. Strange... Ahem! - Moidl, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Dog on Shooting Locations
If the thought of a four-legged companion at a shoot gives you pause,
here is why Moidl is actually the most professional member of the team.
From the very beginning, her training was focused on one goal:
to be a reliable companion during demanding assignments and
long-term reports. Her presence is defined by discipline
and a shared understanding of the environment.
::: Training & Resilience :::
Beyond being my companion, Moidl is trained in Search and Rescue (SAR), specifically in wilderness area search. While we have previously trained with a local rescue organization, we now continue her education independently. As my work takes us across Europe, we strive to collaborate with various international SAR organizations along the way. This background ensures a level of focus and obedience that is essential when working on photo-locations.
::: Seamless Integration :::
On set or in the field, Moidl is my silent partner and constant. She understands the rhythm of my work. When the camera is out, she remains calm and stationary, never interfering with the process. She stays unfazed and professional even in loud or chaotic surroundings. And should the environment ever become too demanding, she has her own dedicated retreat inside the van.
::: Logistics & Safety :::
For situations where her presence isn't possible, my vehicle is fully equipped to serve as her safe retreat. The van is climate-monitored with a real-time mobile alert system, ensuring her safety and comfort regardless of external conditions. This allows me to remain fully focused on the assignment, knowing my setup is entirely self-sufficient. And as long she's with her bear, everything's laid-back. Above all, Moidl's safety and well-being is my top priority!

without my dog hair,
my feeding bowl
and the bear"
